ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Organize instructional programs within the prescribed curriculum, both
academic and social emotional, to provide for individual differences.
• Effectively teach students of varying academic and executive function
proficiencies.
• Maintain classroom discipline and use effective classroom management
skills.
• Partner with families to support student academic and social emotional
growth.
• Utilize and maintain district/building curricular and student learning
objectives.
• Be familiar with state content standards, district priorities, testing, etc...
• Work as an effective member of teaching teams to evaluate and improve
student learning.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by the building administration.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A current Washington state teaching certificate with an endorsement in
Elementary Education.
• Displays an overall optimism toward teaching and student learning.
• Demonstrates classroom management procedures that provide for large and
small groups -- and individuals -- and provides an environment conducive to
learning.
• Develops favorable relationships with students: listens to, cares for, and
works collaboratively with them.
• Uses appropriate disciplinary procedures, establishes clear parameters for
student behavior, responds properly when problems occur, and helps
students toward self-discipline.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written
and oral form.

• Flexible in learning new concepts, cooperates with others, and adapts to a
variety of assignments and conditions.
• Assesses the needs of students, prescribes and implements effective lessons
to meet students’ needs using appropriate and current instructional skills.
• Gains the respect and confidence of students, parents, and staff through
modeling appropriate demeanor and behavior.
• Relates positively to youth and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural,
ethnic backgrounds, different learning styles, and various disabilities and is
interested in the welfare of all students.
• Collegial and collaborative while working to develop lessons and
interventions.
• Collegial and collaborative while participating in staff meetings, trainings, and
working toward continuous improvement.
• Sets and attains high-level expectations with a commitment to using
available resources so that accomplishment and growth occurs.
• Integrates technology into planning, learning, and record-keeping activities.
• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies related to the appropriate age of
instruction and an ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the
instruction/learning process. In addition, a demonstrated ability to apply this
knowledge in a classroom setting.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: This position can be scheduled to work up to 7.5 hours
per/day and will report to the K-8 Principal. This position is open for the current
school year. The salary range of pay rates will be $80/Half Day and $160/Full Day.
