The Role
The SAP Senior ABAP Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable ABAP solutions and system integrations across SAP ECC and above environments. while also contributing to and supporting enterprise integrations across SAP and external systems.
This role plays a critical part in enabling reliable, high-performance integrations between SAP and external systems to support high-volume, time-sensitive operations across supply chain, warehouse, and order fulfillment.
This position reports to the Director – SAP.
What You’ll Do
ABAP Development & Technical Delivery
- Design, develop, and enhance custom ABAP solutions including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms
- Support and maintain existing custom programs, interfaces, and integrations across SAP ECC systems
- Develop Smart Forms, SAPscript, output management solutions, including label printing (Zebra) and RF integrations
- Build and support Function Modules, RFCs, BAPIs, and IDoc-based interfaces
- Perform debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of ABAP programs
- Ensure adherence to SAP development standards, transport management, and code quality practices
- Create and maintain technical documentation aligned with functional and integration requirements
- Participate in code reviews to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability
Integration & Interface Management:
- Contribute to SAP integration landscape including EDI, SAP PI/PO (or CPI), IDocs, APIs, and file-based interfaces
- Collaborate with integration teams to design and implement interfaces between SAP and external systems
- Support integrations with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Manhattan or similar platforms
- Work on EDI transactions such as 850, 855, 856, and 810 and support trading partner integrations
- Perform interface monitoring, error handling, reprocessing, and root cause analysis
- Support integration testing, UAT, and cutover activities for integration-heavy initiatives
- Ensure stable, near real-time integrations supporting high-volume, time-critical business processes
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with SAP functional analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Provide production support and timely resolution of incidents, defects, and integration issues
- Coordinate with middleware teams, external vendors, and partners
- Support SAP upgrades, enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of SAP experience with strong hands-on ABAP development and integration expertise
- Experience working in SAP ECC 6.0 and/or S/4HANA environments
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- SAP ABAP or integration-related certification preferred
- Strong experience with integrations using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, APIs, EDI, and PI/PO or CPI
- Solid understanding of ABAP programming including ALV reports, enhancements, modularization, and output management
- Experience supporting high-volume, time-critical environments (manufacturing, distribution, or logistics)
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills
- Experience integrating SAP with WMS platforms (e.g., Manhattan or similar)
- Exposure to EDI transactions (850, 855, 856, 810) and trading partner integrations
- Knowledge of SAP modules such as MM, SD, WM/EWM, PP, and FI integration touchpoints
- Experience with SAP UI5, Java, or Neptune
- Experience working with EDI providers and external partners
- Experience working closely with functional teams and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Salary: The salary range for this role is from $130,000 - $160,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary based on many factors including but not limited to candidate experience, and skills.
