Job Title: High School Head Coach/Adviser/Director


 


Position Overview:


The High School Head Coach/Adviser/Director is responsible for leading and managing the overall athletic and extracurricular programs at the high school level. This multifaceted role involves coaching a specific sport, providing guidance and support to students, and overseeing the development and execution of various extracurricular activities.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  1. Coaching:



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching program for the assigned sport.

  • Plan and conduct regular practices, focusing on skill development, strategy, and team dynamics.

  • Provide guidance and motivation to athletes, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.

  • Attend and coordinate participation in competitions, ensuring compliance with league and school regulations.



  1. Student Advising:



  • Serve as an academic and personal adviser to student-athletes, promoting their overall well-being and success.

  • Monitor and support students' academic progress, emphasizing the importance of balancing sports and academics.

  • Encourage character development, sportsmanship, and leadership skills among student-athletes.

  • Address individual student needs and concerns, serving as a mentor and role model.



  1. Program Development:



  • Collaborate with school administration to develop and implement a vision for the athletic and extracurricular programs.

  • Identify opportunities for program expansion and improvement, considering the interests and needs of the student body.

  • Organize and supervise various events, including fundraisers, team-building activities, and community outreach programs.



  1. Team Management:



  • Recruit, train, and supervise assistant coaches and support staff.

  • Coordinate team travel, equipment, and logistical aspects of the program.

  • Foster effective communication and teamwork among coaching staff, athletes, and parents.



  1. Compliance and Administration:



  • Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league policies and regulations.

  • Manage budgets, allocate resources, and coordinate fundraising efforts to support the program.

  • Maintain accurate records related to team rosters, schedules, and other administrative tasks.


 


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in education, sports management, or a related field.

  • Coaching certification and relevant coaching experience.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of the rules and strategies of the specific sport.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students both academically and athletically.

  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team culture.
