Description of Job Duties

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the head of the SWOSU Office of Institutional Advancement/Executive Director of the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. with additional direction provided by the SWOSU Athletic Department, the Coordinator, Advancement/Athletic Media & Operations, performs functions associated with the creation and management of social media as well as creative media content, including photography, videography, and graphic design for the SWOSU Office of Institutional Advancement and the SWOSU Athletic Department; supports the promotion and branding of SWOSU Advancement, SWOSU Foundation, Inc., and SWOSU Athletics through various digital platforms; assists the SWOSU Athletic Department with recruiting, game operations, and general departmental needs; assists the SWOSU Office of Institutional Advancement as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the creation and management of social media and of photo, video, print, and graphic content to support SWOSU Advancement, the SWOSU Foundation, Inc., and SWOSU Athletics
  • Produces and edits digital media content for use across social media, recruiting materials, and departmental communications.
  • Supports the maintenance of the SWOSU Foundation, Inc.’s and the SWOSU Athletic Department’s visual brands across all platforms.
  • Assists with SWOSU game day operations including setup, execution, and breakdown of athletic events, as well as support of game management personnel and activities.
  • Assists with recruiting visit coverage, including coordinating and ensuring photo and creative needs are met to enhance the prospective student-athlete experience.
  • Provides limited support for day-to-day athletic department operations, including administrative, logistical, and special event needs.
  • Collaborates with coaches and staff to support team-specific content and departmental initiatives.
  • Assists in the operation and maintenance of digital platforms, including social media and website content.
  • May assist with supervision and coordination of student workers supporting creative and operational functions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with all Great American Conference and NCAA rules and regulations as they relate to all job-related activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and/or outlined in the job description.

Education and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience with graphic design, photography, and/or videography preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro preferred).
  • Working knowledge of sports media, branding, and content creation strategies.
  • General knowledge and skill in utilizing digital and social media platforms.
  • Experience with website content management systems
  • Experience in intercollegiate athletics or related environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to evolving departmental needs.
  • Ability to assist in multiple areas within a fast-paced athletic environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • The Coordinator, Advancement/Athletic Media & Operations will divide time among the SWOSU Office of Institutional Advancement/SWOSU Foundation, Inc. and the SWOSU Athletic Department. This division of time will vary on a daily basis as needed and mutually agreed upon by the SWOSU Office of Institutional Advancement/SWOSU Foundation, Inc. and the SWOSU Athletic Department.
  • Work schedule will include evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to travel to out-of-town events, meetings, and athletic competitions.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
