Asphalt Tack Truck Operator – Roadway Construction

Davidson County, TN (Nashville Area) + Surrounding Counties
Full‑Time | Hourly + Overtime

We are hiring an experienced Asphalt Tack Truck Operator to support roadway and paving projects throughout Davidson County and surrounding counties in TN. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Operate an asphalt tack truck on roadway, paving, and resurfacing projects
  • Apply tack coat asphalt emulsion at proper rates and temperatures
  • Operate spray bar and hand wand for edges, joints, and tie‑ins
  • Coordinate with paving crews to maintain production flow
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, MUTCD, and company safety standards
  • Work safely in live traffic and active construction zones

What We’re Looking For

  • Valid CDL Class B or A required
  • Tanker endorsement (N) required
  • Experience operating a tack truck or distributor truck preferred
  • Asphalt paving or roadway construction experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work day, night, weekend, and overtime shifts as needed
  • Reliable transportation and strong attendance

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

  • TDOT or municipal roadway projects
  • Knowledge of asphalt emulsions and spray calibration
  • Experience with Etnyre, Rosco, or similar distributor trucks
  • Previous work in traffic‑controlled or DOT‑regulated environments

Work Environment

  • Outdoor roadway construction sites
  • Exposure to heat, weather, traffic, and paving equipment
  • Physically active role (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing equipment)
