Job Description
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Provides instruction with appropriate learning activities in core academic subjects
- Recent experience teaching Kindergarten and training in early childhood education.
- Interest in collaborating with the grade level team to enhance the program with language and multicultural experiences
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing the Common Core State Standards; familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards
- Knowledge of and interest in implementing the Reading Workshop model of reading instruction and other best practices of balanced literacy instruction, including direct phonemic awareness and phonics instruction
- Proven successful implementation and student growth through the implementation of the Writing Workshop model of writing instruction
- Knowledge of and interest in implementing an inquiry-based approach to social studies and science curriculum
- Demonstrated application of strategies to differentiate instruction in response to the collection of formative assessment data
- Evaluates academic and social growth of pupils and keeps appropriate records
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve effective participation in all activities.
- Proven ability to successfully and respectively work with behaviorally challenging students; knowledge of and interest in implementing PBIS and restorative practices
- Demonstrated expertise in communicating with parents through a variety of means. Holds parent conferences to discuss the individual student’s progress and interpret the school program.
- Proven success to show academic growth in all students, particularly in supporting both low performing students and high achieving students to realize academic gains
- Ability to support and supervise the mainstreaming of full inclusion students
- Success as a teacher leader with grade level teams, school committees, and school administration
- Demonstrated expertise in integrating instructional technology to teach to the Content Standards and beyond in transformative ways, moving up the SAMR model. At a minimum, should be comfortable using iPads, laptops, document cameras, and interactive whiteboards
- Successful use or passion for including technology as a communication and collaboration tool with parents and colleagues, for example, Google apps
- Special training or talents that enhance the grade level of teachers

Salary Info
$2,500 for Master's
