Job Description

Position:      Geotechnical Project Engineer, PE

Location:     Dallas, Texas

Reports To: Geotechnical Department Manager

Mission/ Position Description Summary

The mission of the Project Manager for HVJ North Texas – Chelliah Consultants, Inc., a leading specialty engineering firm in Texas, is to assure client satisfaction through preparation of quality reports that address the specific project requirements within the project schedule, budget and design constraints.   Main areas of responsibilities include:

  • Perform direct project work and assisting to project manager
  • Coordinating and organizing field and laboratory work and performing engineering analyses within project scope and budget as directed by the project manager.
  • Drive company vehicles to/from work site as needed.
  • Prepare boring logs based on field and lab data and review boring logs prepared by others.
  • Preparing geotechnical reports including required plates and appendices
  • Reviewing geotechnical reports prepared by others and Addressing internal and client review comments
  • Review all reports prior to submittal to the client for completeness and accuracy
  • Manage projects meeting HVJ North Texas financial goals and quality standards
  • Provide client satisfaction
  • Track project expenses to ensure actual work is performed within budget
  • Guide and mentor junior staff
  • Team Building.
  • Assist with Business Development

Key Criteria/Requirements

  • MSCE with three to five years of directly related geotechnical experience.
  • Must have Professional Engineer license in the State of Texas or be qualified to obtain the license within six months of employment.
  • Excellent written and communication skills and strong math and science skills.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with no history of accidents or alcohol/drug related traffic offenses and valid right to work documents.
