    JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    Position Title:   Special Maintenance - Electrician
    Location:          Warehouse
    Department: Building Personnel
    Reports to:       Director of Facilities  
    FLSA Class:     Non-Exempt
    FTE:                   1.0

     

    SUMMARY

    This position performs electrical repairs throughout the district.

    DUTIES

     
    1. Lighting repairs. Ballast, bulbs and upgrades

    2. Occupancy sensor repair and replacing

    3. Frequency drive trouble shooting and repairs

    4. Frequency drive installation

    5. High voltage trouble shooting

    6. Low voltage trouble shooting

    7. Electric motor replacement and wiring

    8. Fire alarm system trouble shooting and repairs

    9. Generator switch gear routine maintenance 

    10. Location of underground utilities

    11. Trouble shooting of building automation systems

    12. Low voltage actuator replacement and repair

    13. Repairs and upgrades to building electrical distribution systems. 

     

     

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

     
    1. Journeyman licensed electrician

    2. Ability to trouble shoot high and low voltage controls

    3. Experience with installing and repairing frequency drives 

    4. Must be able to work off of lifts, ladders, scaffolding and confined spaces

    5. Be available for pager rotation

    6. The successful candidate must be organized and able to prioritize tasks to complete them in a timely and safe professional manner without damage to equipment and/or personal property

    7. Heavy equipment knowledge to help with utility repair projects 

    8. Basic computer skills 

    9. Ability to perform general building maintenance, includes the following:

       
      • Cement finishing, carpentry skills, electrical and plumbing repairs

    10. Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports 

    11. Ability to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors 

    12. Ability to work with the public in a positive manner 

    13. Ability to work independently

    14. Must be able to work 2nd and 3rd shift as needed 

    15. Must be available for snow removal 24/

    16. All other duties as assigned.

    Per 2025-2026 Custodial/Maintenance Salary Schedule
