Position Summary
UAA is seeking an experienced payroll professional with strong knowledge of all payroll processes at the Director level. This person should also have a strong focus on customer service, collaboration, and take ownership of the payroll function. This role is exciting because there is room for both autonomy and collaboration, making the process your own, and building relationships with our practices. We are seeking a Director of Payroll who is detailed oriented, committed to executing an accurate work product in a timely manner, displays collaboration in all interactions, and has a passion for data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all payroll functions and the payroll and 401k relationship between UAA, the practices, and Insperity (and any future payroll system we migrate to)
- Aggregating payroll requests & adjustments, entering into the Insperity Premiere system respectively and auditing for accuracy
- Compiling and reviewing biweekly payroll for all four companies with approval from Practice Administrators
- Build relationships with Practice Administrators and other staff as appropriate at each practice, ensuring that trust is built and maintained
- Process contractor payroll performed on ADP Run
- Process monthly payroll on the 15th for a small group of physicians
- Reviewing weekly timecard submissions for anomalies
- Owning all four companies’ 401k plan, including any audits that may need to be performed, end of/beginning of year reporting, entering contributions and employee changes such as disbursements, and answering front line questions about the plan and functionality in Empower
- Managing the 401k bridge from the 401k platform (Empower) to the payroll system
- Reviewing policies/accruals in the payroll system for accuracy, ie PTO, and holding the Insperity payroll system and team accountable to updating the information and keeping it accurate
- Running biweekly and ad hoc payroll reports as well as other employee and company reports as requested
- Liaising with Insperity team on issues, updates, changes, etc
- Creating process and control documentation
- Preparing data and stakeholders for future payroll system conversion
- Onboarding any new practice acquisitions to the system
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four-year University
- Experience working with a PEO strongly preferred, such as Insperity Premiere
- Proficient in payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Paylocity, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Thorough understanding of payroll principles and procedures
- Proficient with or able to quickly learn other systems and software used by the organization (Empower, Microsoft Office Suite, Monday.com, etc)
- Experience with multi-site site payroll processing required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited four-year University
- 7-10+ years of payroll leadership experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
