About the position


We are looking for a Business Development Manager to build, lead, engage, and develop a customer-focused team of business development executives focused in expanding the current and potential portfolio of large and Strategic accounts, creating an inclusive and inspiring work environment that supports the achievement of superior results. Responsible and accountable for the implementation of the overall strategy of offering integrated educational solutions to customers, notably the Assessment integrated offer that includes the Oxford Test of English (OTE) and Oxford Placement Test (OPT).


The selected candidates must be a creative and enthusiastic with exceptional analytical sales leadership and revenue growth experience skills.


This role should be based in Mexico City.


Responsibilities










  • Define and execute with efficacy the strategic and tactic plans that align and support the local and divisional growth in Strategic Accounts and Assessment

  • Create and deliver data-driven action plans, and implement marketing initiatives at team level, to enable superior individual and team achievements

  • Define, implement and track the Assessment commercial strategy and plan, including Test Centre & Affiliate selection, acquisition and retention / productivity, keeping the Assessment Market strategy up-to-date – in order to achieve agreed growth plans for Mexico, providing support to other sales teams to grow the Assessment business.  

  • Assign accounts, set targets, drive performance, track, and report on adoption pipeline staging

  • Oversee day-to-day activities performed by executives using metrics and KPIs to track results, and dealing with issues, risks and opportunities escalated by the team

  • Develop team through coaching and training, and identifying skills gaps

  • Gather, analyse, and use information collected from customers about their sales potential and promotional info, their experiences with OUP and OUP’s product and services, and specific needs and opportunities to assist in the translation of evolving needs and expectation of customers, with emphasis in maximizing the effective use of the CRM (iTrack) amongst the team.

  • Ensure self and team is actively engaged in keeping abreast of OUP portfolio of products and services, sales enablement tools and assets, as well as market trends

  • Fully manage the test center approval, on-boarding or migration processes according to agreed policies and processes, as well as run ongoing quality control, supporting test centres in order to improve communication and results.

  • Work closely with Assessment and Regional Marketing teams to develop integrated campaigns for: social recognition and brand awareness, test-taker demand driving, events strategy, and relevant Assessment brand-building or thought leadership campaigns.  

  • Understand and effectively communicate the needs of the market to key stakeholders within LatAm and ELT in order to help develop deep knowledge of the local Assessment sector.

  • In conjunction with Head of Sales, accurately develop forecasts to ensure efficient planning

  • Ensure OUP Ethical Policies are observed



This is a full-time role. Travelling will be required.


About You


The successful candidate will need to possess the following skills:


Essential:



  • Sales leadership and revenue growth experience

  • Educated to Degree level

  • Effective analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with clear and structured decision-making.

  • People management and team engagement skills, with ability to prioritize and organize self and the work of others in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Knowledge of needs of teachers and learners or relevant market area (large institutions, congregations, chains, international schools, academic institutions

  • Digital skills

  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills

  • C1 level of English

  • Experience in using CRM

  • knowledge of ELT secotro and ELT methodologies

  • Management of advanced reporting tools (Power BI, Dashboards)
