    Title:   School Bus Driver
     
    Position Purpose
    Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Transportation, to ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, and others to and from school, residential neighborhoods, and field trips.

    QUALIFICATIONS:                                          
                                                                            1.         Must possess and maintain valid New Jersey Bus Driver’s License (CDL).  Class C and evidence of an excellent driving record.
                                                                            2.         Must possess and maintain valid certification in C.P.R. and First Aid, or obtain within 60 calendar days of employment.
                                                                            3.         Be of good character and reputation.
                                                                            4.         Be in good physical and mental health.  Capable of lifting, positioning and caring for students with disabilities.
                                                                            5.         Be responsible, dependable, self-reliant, and display initiative.
                                                                            6.         Must be able to operate all vehicles used in the transportation of students.
                                                                            8.         Be able to take direction and supervision.
                                                                            9.         Experience with disabled pupils preferred.
                                                                            10.       Sensitivity to the nature and needs of the disabled and their families.
                                                                            11.       Required Criminal History background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status.
                                                                            12.       Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate.
