Valley Community Services Board is seeking a motivated individual to join our finance team as an accountant! The accountant provides essential support or ownership for a broad array of tasks. The incumbent works collaboratively with colleagues to ensure accurate and efficient financial reports and serves as the primary point of contact for fund managers throughout the agency.

Essential Functions
- General ledger management, including but not limited to, ensuring proper documentation is provided or created to demonstrate due diligence, managing the reconciliation process, accurately coding revenue, verifying bank transactions, and ensuring payments for client services are appropriately entered.
- Monitors general business accounts receivable and takes appropriate action to ensure timely collection of owed amounts.
- Analyzes revenue and expenses through periodic testing of accounting transactions to ensure accuracy.
- Conducts monthly close-out of accounting records in accordance with agency policies and produces draft financial reports for review and approval.
- Participates in periodic internal audits to proactively identify process deficiencies, policy gaps, or accounting errors, including, but not limited to, bi-annual cash audits, quarterly vendor W9 files, and a assessment to ensure on-time payments.
- Collaborates with Accounting team members, fund managers, and other internal or external stakeholders to resolve errors as quickly as possible.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with multiple accounting roles or responsibilities.
- Previous experience working in a complex regulatory environment.
- Experience working with competing, fixed deadlines.
- Familiarity with non-profit or government accounting practices.
- Fastidious detail management and organizational skills.
