JOB SUMMARY
A Parts Technician plays a key role in managing and distributing parts and components essential for the operation of machinery, equipment, or vehicles. This position involves inventory management, ordering parts, and ensuring timely availability of the required components. Parts Technicians typically work in industries such as automotive, manufacturing, construction, or any field where equipment and machinery are used.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Examines inventory of parts and inspects tools to ensure quality and wear or defects; reports damages to supervisor.
· Maintains the computerized inventory system through the creation and receipt of stock orders.
· Maintains perpetual inventories and prepares detailed records or reports; completes physical inventory.
· Prepares necessary paperwork to process purchases; issues purchase order numbers to vendors; receives quotes from vendors for parts not under contract.
· Calculates and verifies vendor deliveries; communicates with customers and vendors regarding inventory availability.
· Deliver parts needed for jobs to the requesting technicians.
· Return and log warranty parts as well as core returns for vendors.
· Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
· Operates equipment such as a forklift in handling receipts and withdrawals of stock.
· Ability to interact with customers (internal & external) in person and over the telephone.
· Willingness to observe proper phone etiquette/manners.
· Must be reliable.
Ability to use handtools
High School Education or GED equivalent
