Description
· Supervise maintenance personnel. Duties include organizing and prioritizing job assignments and assigning personnel to job tasks, quality control of work performed, assists personnel with instructions and provides technical information and instructs personnel in the proper use of tools and equipment.
· Assists the parts clerk in procurement of inventory, disbursement of parts and inventory, supervises the use of equipment and supplies. Fulfills the duties of the parts clerk as necessary.
· Assures that all personnel perform their work in accordance with the safety program and complies with all OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements. Participates in monthly facility inspections. Conducts safety training programs for personnel.
· Assists the Director of Maintenance in administrative duties as required. Duties include personnel management, assigning discipline, grievance handling, leave scheduling, etc.
· Participates in planning of future projects and financial needs. Recognizes problem areas and recommends solutions.
· Responds to emergency situations needing immediate attention. Directs road call responses and responses in industrial accidents and injuries.
· Is available for emergency responses on weekends and evenings.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.
The performance of the major job functions for this position requires the incumbent to be present at their work setting. Regular, dependable attendance is necessary for the performance of the job duties.
Requirements
Qualifications:
· High School graduate
· Completion of two years program in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience.
· Five years’ experience as a supervisor in a vehicle maintenance shop.
· Extensive experience in the repair of diesel engines, large vehicles and OASH and EPA regulations.
· Have a basic knowledge of PC computers
· Must have excellent administrative and supervisory skills
· CDL with passenger endorsement
· Must successfully pass drug and/or alcohol test
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
· Use of full ranges of hearing, speech, and vision
· Use of fingers (manual dexterity) handling paperwork
· Stoop, crouch, squat or kneel when performing inspections of any type
· Bend at knee, hip, waist when performing duties
· Must be able to lift 50lbs to waist level, carry 35lbs, climb ladders and stairs, lie on floor
· Be subject to wet, cold or hot environmental conditions
· Write reports in a coherent, legible way
· Must be able to move about the office and between floors; utilize standard office equipment; access filing system/cabinets; and communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is to assist in the overall management of the Maintenance Department, The Supervisor’s primary duty is to supervise the day-to-day operations and personnel employed in the maintenance department.
