What You'll Do  

Reporting to the Construction Manager the role of Labourer is to assist plow and medium voltage cable installation crew general labour including digging, lifting and general clean-up of the job site. The Labourer is also responsible to be able to safely use basic hand tools and drive company vehicles, when needed.

 

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:  

  • Work in a fast-paced outdoor environment, in various weather conditions, including digging, lifting, and moving equipment and material
  • Provide general clean up and ongoing maintenance of the job site
  • Shovel snow on job site, when needed
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, when needed, and report vehicle maintenance requirements to the Site Supervisor
  • Assist equipment operators with securing special attachments to equipment and guide them in moving equipment/materials on job site.  Looking for people with a desire to learn to safely operate and maintain equipment including skid steer, zoom boom, wheel loader, excavator, and dozer.
  • General understanding of basic hand tools and the ability to use them

Additional Information    

This position is designated as safety-sensitive making employment contingent upon the successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, as well as criminal and general background checks. 

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule rotation of 21 days on 7 days off.

Projects can be based across BC, AB, SK, first project will be near Assiniboia, Saskatchewan

Standard workdays are 10 hours (7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)  

Overtime paid at time and a half after 10 hours per day and 40 hours per week  

Out-of-town work includes either all-inclusive camp accommodations or LOA and individual accommodations (project dependent)
