The Job Profile
This is a varied role providing essential administrative support to the Managing Director and carrying out general office administration duties.
The Job Role
From diary management and travel bookings for the Managing Director to coordinating meetings and supporting company events, no two days will be the same. Key responsibilities will include welcoming visitors; managing meeting room set up including refreshments, assisting with administration such as mail distribution, phone messages and digital filing and maintenance. We will be looking for you to constantly review, improve and develop all systems and processes to support business effectiveness.
The Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who can support and work with stakeholders at every level, within a fast-paced commercially orientated organisation. It is desirable that you have the ability to work on your own initiative and with little supervision.
You will be an effective communicator, able to convey messages through a variety of communication channels including Microsoft Office; deliver messages tailored appropriately for the audience; be trustworthy, tactful and diplomatic and apply utter discretion in all matters of confidentiality.
You will have a pragmatic attitude and a proactive team player you will be confident, professional and conscientious, organised with the ability to multi-task.
A genuine interest in publishing or the creative industries is a plus as this is an exciting opportunity to join the Simon & Schuster team and become part of a successful and growing publishing house with an impressive list of authors and illustrators across its Adult and Children’s lists. There is the opportunity to gain insight into the publishing process and develop further within the company.
Please note, this role will be office-based Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home on Fridays.
