Job description
A DataStage Developer designs, develops, and maintains complex ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using IBM InfoSphere DataStage to move data into data warehouses. They optimize performance, troubleshoot job failures, and write SQL/UNIX scripts, often collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into efficient data integration solutions

Key Responsibilities
- ETL Development: Design and create Parallel/Server/Sequence jobs in IBM DataStage to extract data from various sources (Oracle, DB2, Flat Files) and load them into data warehouses.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize DataStage jobs to enhance performance and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and production job failures.
- Data Transformation: Implement data validation, cleansing, and complex transformation logic within DataStage.
- Scripting & Scheduling: Create and maintain Unix Shell Scripts for automation, and set up job scheduling.
- Collaboration & Design: Work with business analysts and data architects to create high/low-level technical design documents and mapping documents.
- Data Quality Assurance: Conduct data profiling, unit testing, and debugging to ensure accuracy.
- Technical Expertise: Strong experience with IBM InfoSphere DataStage (v11.5/11.7).
- Database/Languages: Strong proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux/Unix Shell Scripting.
- Tools: Experience with Change Data Capture (CDC), data warehousing, and ETL scheduling tools.
- Analysis: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex data flows.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Typically requires 2–5+ years of experience in data integration and ETL development.
