Job Overview

The Paw Print Artist, reporting into the Paw Print Studio Manager is responsible for working under general supervision to create or coordinate specifically the creation of custom painted paw prints. This individual will use their knowledge, skills, and tools to develop the commercially successful design for the paw print creation.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • No matter the task, you’ll prioritize quality, safety, and ethics.
  • Paint custom ordered portraits, landscape and/or fur to order.
  • Utilize Paws-e-Track and email to ensure and track proper special service requirements.
  • Track all custom painted orders, verify custom painted prints using photos.
  • Paint custom paw prints based on customer special requests.
  • Ensure each fur match/custom painted print meets quality standard before going to packaging.
  • Use AI and silhouette to attach vinyl names to custom paw prints.
  • Apply protective or decorative finished to products.
  • Position raw materials on processing or production equipment.
  • Shape clay to create products and smooth surfaces of finished pieces using a variety of tools.
  • Examine finished ware for defects and ensure that it meets the company’s standards.
  • Help to maintain supplies of tools, equipment, materials as needed, may be required to order them.
  • Use of Paws-e-Track software (barcode scanning) to maintain accurate accounts of all orders.
  • Keep a clean and tidy work area on a daily basis.
  • Participate in training and cross training, improvement initiatives including health and safety and quality improvement.
  • Help with other tasks in the studio like shaping clay, loading, and unloading the kilns, prepping clay, if needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education, Training & Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Formal Learning/Post Secondary in Art or similar considered a bonus.

  • Have the ability to paint portraits of pets, landscape, and realistic fur.
  • Have a passion for art and solid design/conceptual skills.
  • Passion for pets and animals.

Working Conditions 

  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and carrying.
  • Certain PPE is required for different tasks, but we’ll provide that for you (steel-toe boots, safety glasses/goggles/half face respirator, etc.)
  • Overtime and weekend work may available during busier times.
  • Working in varying temperatures.
