Job Description

Description

About the Role:

Peritia is seeking a driven, relationship-focused sales leader to build and expand business across the San Francisco Bay Area, serving emerging and established biotech, pharma, and medical device clients. This role operates as a true revenue driver, with direct accountability for pipeline generation, new business development, and long-term account growth.

This role will define and execute territory strategy, cultivate high-value client relationships, and build a book of business from the ground up. The role requires a proven hunter who can identify opportunities, open doors, and close deals in a complex, relationship-driven environment.

Scope & Operating Context:

Reports to: Senior Sales Leadership

Territory: San Francisco Bay Area

Client base: Emerging and established biotech, pharma, and medical device companies

Market: Complex, relationship-driven B2B services environment with consultative sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying groups

Key Responsibilities: Territory Strategy & Business Development

  • Define and execute a focused territory strategy aligned to revenue goals.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline, proactively advancing opportunities through the sales cycle with urgency and discipline.
  • Identify and prioritize top prospects within the territory, maintaining a targeted list of key accounts.
  • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies that drive meaningful account growth across both emerging and established biotech companies.

Client Relationship Management

  • Own client relationships end-to-end, ensuring satisfaction through responsive communication and a deep understanding of each client's needs.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers and maintain strong visibility within target accounts.

Industry Presence & Market Intelligence

  • Actively participate in and contribute to life sciences industry organizations, conferences, and events to build visibility and generate opportunities.
  • Continuously deepen knowledge of clinical development trends, the competitive landscape, and client programs to better position Peritia.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in life sciences services sales. You know this space, have built relationships from the ground up, and have the track record to prove it.
  • Deep experience working with both emerging and established biotech companies, with an understanding of how their needs and buying behaviors differ.
  • Strong familiarity with the life sciences services landscape — consulting, CRO, or other professional services experience preferred.
  • Proven hunter mentality: you've built a book of business from scratch and know how to open doors, not just maintain them.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to earn trust at the senior stakeholder level.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter who sets ambitious goals and has the discipline and drive to hit them consistently.
  • Comfortable navigating complex organizations and multi-stakeholder buying processes.

Success Metrics:

  • Consistent      pipeline growth and new business generation within the territory
  • Conversion of top      prospects into active accounts
  • Retention and      expansion of existing client relationships
  • Active presence      and engagement within the San Francisco life sciences community

Working Style & Culture:

  • High accountability, results-oriented environment.
  • Entrepreneurial,      build-from-scratch mindset.
  • Emphasis on ownership, initiative, and long-term relationship building.

Location & Travel:

  • Travel required for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
