Job Description

Ameriprise Financial is looking to add a Senior Administrative Assistant to the team! As the Sr. Administrative Assistant for Enterprise Data Analytics and Insights (EDAI), you'll be the operational backbone of a team that connects strategy, insights, data, and analytics. You'll support senior leadership in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift quickly. Your ability to anticipate needs, exercise judgment, and keep complex operations running seamlessly will directly impact the team's effectiveness. Day to day, you'll manage leaders' calendars and meeting prioritization, read and respond to communications on behalf of leadership, coordinate travel and expenses, and drive logistics for offsites, town halls, and special events. You'll also play a key role in department programs such as onboarding, recognition, and timekeeping. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, stays two steps ahead, builds strong relationships at every level, and sees technology as a way to work smarter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage leaders' calendars and meeting prioritization. Schedule meetings and/or conferences by interacting with internal/external clients/partners to coordinate calendars, accommodations, meeting materials and supplies. Read and respond to emails and requests on behalf of the leader; proactively flag pending requests or items requiring follow up and recommend next steps.

  • Prepare expense reports, invoices, presentations, internal/external communication, travel arrangements, and other misc. reports.  

  • Coordinate/administer department programs (recognition, timekeeping, employee/contractor on-boarding activities, supply management, etc.), off-sites, and special events or conferences. May provide leadership to direct reports including coaching, mentoring and annual performance reviews.

  • Educate department of new technology tools, including AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, to improve team efficiency. Respond to ad hoc requests and provide project/program support representing the team (researching issues or questions about policies or practices, coordinate a conference, etc.).

  • Back-up other administrative assistants. Provide new hire training and/or mentoring to administrative staff within department or business unit.


Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience required.

  • Proficiency w/ computer programs (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and administrative programs (Outlook, Ariba Buyer, Concur, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience working with audio and video conferencing e.g. Microsoft Teams

  • Demonstrated experience multi-tasking, quickly changing direction, and independently prioritizing work in order to support multiple people

  • Demonstrated experience anticipating needs, taking initiative, and using independent judgment given limited availability of leader

  • Demonstrated experience exercising discretion when accessing and handling sensitive information

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across organizational levels

  • Strong attention to detail


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (4-year) or Associate's (2-year) degree or equivalent.

  • Willingness to learn and embrace new technology tools

  • Experience with AI-enabled platforms such as Microsoft Copilot

Base Pay Salary

The estimated hourly rate for this role is $26.15-$35.96/hour. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
