The Fowler School of Engineering at Chapman University invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer pool for Fall 2026 in the following areas:

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available on short notice. The Fall term begins mid-August and ends late-December; the Spring term begins mid-January and ends mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer and Interterm Sessions may also be available.
All instruction is delivered on Chapman University's main campus in Orange, California.

Opened in the fall of 2019, the Dale E. and Sarah Ann Fowler School of Engineering offers undergraduate degree programs in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering, and a graduate program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The School also offers several interdisciplinary minors and themed inquiry programs, which allow students from across other Chapman programs to explore engineering. Fowler Engineering is committed to contributing solutions to global challenges, and a key component of that mission is recruiting and supporting faculty, staff, and students from the broadest possible set of backgrounds and experiences. The Swenson Family Hall of Engineering, which opened in 2021, provides state-of-the-art facilities for teaching and research, enabling truly boundaryless experiences.
Responsibilities
Fowler School of Engineering seeks talented educators who are committed to student-centered, hands-on learning in a small-class environment.
- Teach undergraduate and/or in your area of expertise
- Prepare and deliver lectures, assignments, and assessments
- Hold office hours to support student learning and success
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure course outcomes align with program objectives

- Required: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related field
- Preferred: Prior university-level teaching experience
- Valued: Significant industry experience in relevant areas

Successful completion of a background check is required for all final candidates selected from the pool. The pay range for course and course related work for this position is $51.28 per hour. This position is contingent on final budget approval.
