Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible to maintain, and repair, Boiler/Chiller, cooling towers, plumbing systems, low pressure steam systems. This role supports campus wide building maintenance, responds to weather related incidents, and utilizes building automation systems such as Metasys and Automated Logic. The technician must work independently and participate in an on-call rotation.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Install, maintain, and repair residential and commercial plumbing and HVAC equipment consistent with plumbing mechanical and electrical codes.  
  1. Perform routine maintenance on All types of HVAC equipment to include Boilers, Chillers, and Cooling Towers.  
  1. Strong knowledge of BAS/EMS (building automation systems/Energy Management systems) preferred. Note: Unity's current system: Metasys/Automated Logic.  
  1. Ownership of Preventive Maintenance program associated within assigned area.  
  1. Prioritize and meet all work order requests in a timely and effective manner.  
  1. Recognize and report hazardous conditions requiring immediate action.  
  1. Coordinate assigned work orders with other departments, on ground residents, guests and employees.  
  1. Proven ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate self-motivation.  
  1. Adhere to all company policies and procedures including all safety guidelines, including compliance with regulations regarding the handling and disposal of hazardous materials.  
  1. After hours/weekends and on-call rotation responsibilities to meet the demands of Maintenance department.  
  1. Utilize electronic time management system to input time and attendance for self.  

Non-Essential Functions:

  1. Assist other maintenance personnel as needed for the completion of work orders.  
  1. Demonstrate customers service skills with each department interaction and work order requests.  
  1. Assist in Campus snow removal, as required.  
  1. In conjunction with the Supervisor and Director, estimate and give recommendations on all building systems for repair costs and projects.  
  1. Self-starter, motivated, and ability to work and function with little supervision at times.
