Job Summary:

As the Sr. CRE Loan Servicing and Closing Specialist within Americo�s Commercial Mortgage Dept., you will be solely responsible for all commercial mortgage closings on new CM originations/refinancings and all commercial mortgage servicing functions in connection with Americo�s on-balance-sheet CM portfolio. You will report directly to the Sr. Managing Director � Commercial Real Estate Investments and will also work closely with Americo�s Chief Investment Officer on various ancillary support functions and investment reporting. This position will have direct contact with commercial mortgage banking correspondents/brokers, loan servicers, borrowers, attorneys, and Americo�s internal investment accounting staff. This position will also provide ad-hoc support for Americo�s direct CRE development and investment activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaison with commercial mortgage banking clients, borrowers, and attorney on new loan/refinance closings and on servicing requests
  • Work with mortgage banker and borrower clients to manage the timely day-to-day workflow on loan closings including the preparation of closing checklists, monitoring receipt and accuracy of checklist deliverables, reviewing and approving property/ GL insurance certificates and third-party reports, computing RE tax and insurance escrows, preparing loan disbursement statements, reviewing and approving title company closing statements, and working with internal investment accounting staff to ensure successful wire transfers
  • Liaison with Americo�s outside legal counsel to ensure receipt of all loan closing documentation and prepare digital and paper files
  • Enter loan onboarding data into CM loan servicing system and work with internal Investment Accounting staff to ensure ongoing timeliness and accuracy of the data
  • Manager daily servicing functions of a portfolio of outside-serviced and internally-serviced CM loans in a timely and responsible manner to protect the interests of Americo
  • Review and analyze loan requests involving assumptions, payoffs, holdback releases, parcel releases, modification and then offer recommendations to senior management
  • Monitor receipt, accuracy and approval of all required annual CREFC property inspection and financial statement reporting forms
  • Work with CM servicing correspondents in computing and processing loan payoff statements
  • Work with CM servicing correspondents to ensure timely and accurate monthly loan payments and remittance reporting
  • Monitor timely RE tax and insurance payments in all CM loans during the life of the loan
  • Work with outside loan servicers to ensure compliance with servicing agreements
  • Support senior management in the preparation of preparation of periodic CM portfolio reports
  • Provide limited administrative support to Sr. MD � CRE Investments and Chief Investment Officer

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5 + years of CM loan closing and CM loan servicing experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel skills
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage a variety of tasks in a pleasant, collaborative, time-sensitive manner
  • Excellent communications skills and strong inter-personal client-servicing skills
  • Experience with loan servicing systems, with proficiency in the FICS system a plus
  • Experience with CM reporting; experience working with FHLB a plus
  • Quality work on a timely and consistent manner
  • Organized
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with reinsurance administration or life insurance administration is a plus

Education:

  • 4 year degree preferred

Please note: This position requires to be in the Kansas City office 5 days a week.
