Job Description

Job Summary

******2026-2027 School Year *******
The special education teacher, under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and school site Principal, provides a comprehensive educational program for educationally handicapped children. Formulate and implement educational objectives for each identified child. Maintains accurate and complete records on each student and assesses the progress of students on a regular basis. This position serves students district-wide in small groups. The position is located in Taft, CA.

• Three (3) letters of recommendation written within last three (3) years.

Requirements / Qualifications

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Must possess (or be eligible for) a California credential authorizing the teaching of Special Education in a classroom serving students with Mild to Moderate Support Needs.

Experience:
• Previous teaching experience or successful student teaching.

Fingerprint clearance by both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the California Department of Justice as well as a physical clearance are conditions of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met.

Salary Info

Annually based on 19 steps. (Additional $2,802.40 annually for Master’s degree, additional $4,203.59 annually for Doctorate degree)
