General:
The production process operator is responsible for maintaining and servicing the manufacturing processes to ensure a top-quality product is safely and efficiently delivered to internal /external customers. Responsibilities include inspection, positioning, and placement of whole or parts of large birds. Hanging, cutting, trimming, and inspecting parts of birds. The position reports to the process supervisor w/ primary work schedule of day shift , Mon. - Thurs. 7am - 5:30pm OR Tues. - Fri., 5am - 3:30pm, with flexibility to work early/ late shift, short notice overtime, and weekends, as needed.
Specific Duties / Responsibilities:
- Responsible for safely operating and maintaining product flow for various equipment and conveying systems including hanging whole or bird parts, cutting, trimming, loading and unloading parts of birds.
- Safely uses tools, e.g. knives & scissors to prepare poultry parts for further processing
- Completes on-going housekeeping to meet food safety standards
- Operates with a safety-first mindset above all other department metrics
- Works within GMP, Safety, and USDA guidelines to achieve top quality in a safe work environment
- Willingly learns new skills, cross trains others, and works to improve process flow
- Works directly with lead, supervisors, and co-workers to achieve production targets
- Performs other assigned duties as directed
