GOAL STATEMENT: The Sanneh Foundation (TSF) is a 501(c)(3) serving the various needs of Minnesota's low-income youth and their families. The Health & Housing Program Coordinator VISTA will build the capacity of The Sanneh Foundation to support a new youth housing and recovery program. By creating financial tracking modes, coordinating inter-departmental communication, and building external partnerships, the VISTA will help improve economic stability and healthy futures for low-income youth and workforce development participants in low-income populations.
Objective 1: Develop an in-depth understanding of the mission and services offered by TSF, specifically how the Programming Department and Workforce Development programs overlap to serve low-income populations
Step 1: Participate in TSF on-site orientation, including history, mission, core values, and department introductions
Step 2: Meet with key leaders in the Finance, Data & Evaluation, and Workforce departments to understand the current scope of the Ramsey County housing project.
Step 3: Review existing program literature, data reporting processes, and partner agency relationships
Objective 2: Create and implement tracking modes and systems to improve the efficiency and coordination of the new youth housing program
Step 1: Spend time with TSF staff to understand existing partnership and resources available, the nature of those partnerships, and observe and facilitate programming.

Step 2: Shadow at meetings with potential partner agencies with Program Director. Document information about needs and resources available. Act as a coordinator between the Finance, Data & Evaluation, Nutritional Services, and Workforce teams to ensure cohesive communication and data accuracy for the Ramsey County Project.
Step 3: Create meeting agendas and materials, and schedule stakeholders relevant to developing an outline for a Health & Housing program handbook.
Step 4: Design inter-departmental communication tools to facilitate regular check-ins between mentors, social workers, and workforce staff regarding housing participants
Step 5: Locate one new partner or partners that could assist the program through in kind donations or technical support.
Step 6: Document collaboration outcomes with recovery and housing partners and Direct Supervisor.
Step 7: Develop ideas for Health & Housing program operations outline, and standard operating procedure recommendations to include program outputs and data reporting in partnership with Data & Evaluation VISTA and TSF staff.
Step 8: Work with Nutritional Services staff and consultants to research and develop an initial process for data collection and reporting for housing participants.
Objective 3: Strengthen and expand the network of partners providing housing and job placement opportunities for program participants and support the long-term success of the health and housing initiatives by documenting all new processes and training future staff or members
Step 1: Identify local third-party job placement partners
Step 2: Cultivate and document relationships with social workers, local organizations, food rescue and recovery partners to support workforce-eligible housing participants.
Step 3: Research best practices for integrating wrap-around services, such as housing and food support, into existing workforce development models.
Step 4: Develop a staff logistics resource regarding all partner agencies and their current relationship to TSF, contact information, and other pertinent details to program effectiveness.
Step 5: Develop ideas for Health & Housing partnership best practices and recommendations to include program outputs and data reporting in partnership with Data & Evaluation VISTA and TSF staff.
Step 6: Train relevant TSF staff on the use of new tracking systems and partnership databases.
Compensation & BenefitsAmeriCorps members and AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers receive benefits during and after their service as they make a difference across America. Segal Education Award - $7,395 (before taxes, based on Pell Grant) is distributed via MyAmeriCorps.gov following a full term of service.
