About the Department
Key Responsibilities/Area of Assignment:
- Manages multiple Behavioral health programs under the Department.
- Reviews, monitors, and assesses performance and compliance with contractual obligations for the assigned programs.
- Supervises and monitors client service delivery, KPIs and contract related functions for improved outcomes.
- Provides technical assistance and support to the operations, staff, and programs for all Behavioral Health Services within the Department.
State of Georgia license as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, rehabilitation counselor; or Certification in Special Education preferred)
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Position Duties
Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to perform duties related to managing multiple Developmental Disability programs, including developing program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures; evaluating programs; and managing assigned staff (Interpretive duties include tasks requiring the development of strategic plans for an assigned function and involve decisions concerning the allocation of resources in order to achieve established goals and objectives). Responsibilities include managing operations; supervising and monitoring client activities for adults diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities through day service programs; and providing technical assistance and support to the operations, staff, and programming for Developmental Disabilities Client Services.
Essential Functions:

Manages operations; supervises and monitors client activities for adults diagnosed with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities through day service programs; and provides technical assistance and support to the operations, staff, and programming for Developmental Disabilities Client Services; provides staff training as needed; ensures the utilization of Person-Centered Practices throughout all Developmental Disabilities Services; conducts staff meetings monthly; completes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) based on Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD) policy for client processes; and maintains current client manuals based on changes by regulatory agents.
Manages assigned staff, including establishing workloads, prioritizing work assignments, evaluating employee performance, interpreting, and enforcing policies and procedures, resolving staff issues, and administering disciplinary action as required.
Manages multiple developmental disability programs, including developing strategic plans, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Organizes and develops new services and resources and monitors service delivery outcomes. Evaluates the effectiveness of assigned behavioral health programs.
Develops and monitors assigned program budgets and authorizes purchases.
Investigates concerns related to the quality/continuity of client care. Ensures program compliance with established operational standards.
