ATCS's Information Technology department is seeking a motivated IT Intern to join our 2026 Summer Internship Program at our Herndon, VA headquarters!

Job Summary

The IT Summer Intern will support the Information Technology team with day-to-day operations, technical support, and project-based work. This role provides hands-on exposure to enterprise IT environments, Help Desk, systems administration, end-user support and cybersecurity. The intern will gain practical, on-the-job experience as they assist with key technology efforts across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Assist in maintaining IT inventories, system maintenance, documentation, and support knowledge base articles
  • Participate in IT projects such as system upgrades, process improvements, data cleanup, and cybersecurity initiatives
  • Follow company IT policies, security standards, and data protection requirements
  • Perform other IT-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of computer systems, operating systems (Windows/Mac), and common business applications
  • Familiarity or hands-on experience with AI tools (e.g; MS Copilot or similar platforms)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, basic networking concepts, ticketing systems, or cloud technologies is a plus
  • Familiarity with scripting, automation, or low-code tools (e.g.; PowerShell, Python, Power Automate) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to SharePoint, Power BI, data analysis, or reporting tools
  • Basic knowledge of cybersecurity concepts
  • Curiosity about new technologies and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced IT environment

Learning Opportunities

  • Hands-on experience in a corporate IT environment
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g.; Microsoft Copilot or similar platforms) to assist with troubleshooting, research, documentation, etc
  • Exposure to IT governance, security, and operational best practices
  • Mentorship from experienced IT professionals
  • Experience with helpdesk processes, user support escalations, systems deployment, and documentation
