Primary Purpose:

Manages regulatory portfolios, case preparation, strategic filings, and compliance programs. Leads planning across functions (legal, finance, operations), develops regulatory strategies aligned to business goals, and manages the full lifecycle of major filings or compliance obligations.

This role serves as a trusted strategic advisor to internal business units across SDG&E and SoCalGas, offering a unique opportunity to influence high-impact initiatives. The position plays a critical role in developing and executing advocacy strategies for key proceedings before the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), while interacting and building strong relationships with key decision-makers throughout California. This job follows a hybrid work model, with some in-office collaboration days out of our San Francisco office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads preparation and execution of regulatory filings, including rate cases, tariff updates, petitions, and policy submissions.
  • Develops regulatory strategies and coordinates with internal teams to guide modeling, testimony, and evidence development.
  • Serves as primary liaison with regulatory bodies, maintaining relationships and representing the company in proceedings.
  • Anticipates regulatory changes and develops plans or mitigation strategies for business impacts.
  • Oversees discovery responses, data verification, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinates crossfunctional teams to shape filing positions, timelines, and riskbased priorities.
  • Manages budgets and resource planning for case portfolios and regulatory operations.
  • Advises leadership on rate strategy, filing timing, and regulatory risks with supporting analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
