Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide - NYSED Certification as a Level I Teaching Assistant (Must obtain Level III within 4 years of appointment. Recommendations for extension of Level I will only be made if all requirements for Level II have been met except the required work experience).
- Completion of required state workshops, IE. Child Abuse Detection & Reporting, School Violence Prevention, and DASA.
- Work with individual students or groups of students on special instructional projects.
- Provide the teacher with information about students which will assist the teacher in the development of appropriate learning and behavioral experiences.
- Assist students in the use of available instructional resources, and assist in the development of instructional materials.
- Utilize own special skills and abilities by assisting in instructional programs in such areas as: foreign languages, arts, crafts, music and similar subjects.
- Assist in related instructional work as required.
- Assist students with specific health related activities as appropriate.
- Maintains instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records (e.g. lessons, attendance, pencils, paper, teaching supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, providing written reports, or meeting mandated requirements.
- Performs general clerical tasks for the purpose of helping the teacher get instructional materials ready.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Ability to carry out instruction furnished in written or oral form.

- Must have specific vision abilities for close vision, distance vision, depth perception and tell the difference between colors
- The noise level in the work environment is typical for a school environment.
- Work generally performed indoors with limited outside supervision of students.
