Stevens Institute of Technology (Hoboken, NJ)


Program Dates & Schedule
  • Class Schedule:
    • Weekdays: (9:00 AM – 12:15 PM (15-minute break)
    • Double session days: 2:30 PM – 5:45 PM
  • Contracted Hours: 2 weeks (30 hours) or 4 weeks (60 hours) available

Course Dates:

  • Week 1: July 8, 9, 10 (double class), 13
  • Week 2: July 14, 15, 16, 17 (double class)
  • Week 3: July 22, 23, 24 (double class), 27
  • Week 4: July 28, 29, 30, 31 (double class)
  • 2-week contract: Weeks 3–4
  • 4-week contract: Full program


Role Overview

Teach engaging English lessons to international teenagers and young adults, while supporting their progress and overall experience in the program.



Key Responsibilities

Student Supervision

  • Act in loco parentis to ensure student safety, welfare, and discipline at all times
  • Enforce the YES USA Student Code of Conduct
  • Report any issues to management and take appropriate action when necessary

Academic Duties

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons following the YES USA curriculum
  • Adapt and supplement materials as needed
  • Be prepared to teach without technology or materials if necessary

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate attendance records
  • Monitor student performance and progress
  • Submit weekly evaluation reports on time
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions
  • Take and upload student photos for internal use or social media
  • Assist with and co-lead end-of-course ceremonies


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (TESOL or related field preferred)
  • CELTA, TEFL, TESOL (or equivalent certification)
  • Experience teaching ESL to teenagers
  • English proficiency
  • Strong communication skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.


Compensation

  • $20 – $27 per hour
