We are pleased to announce an internal opening for a Parent Educator within Early Head Start at Child Development Resources (CDR). This full-time position plays a vital role in supporting pregnant women and families with children from birth to age three through home-based services that promote healthy child and family development.
The Parent Educator provides weekly, relationship-based home visits and partners closely with families to support parenting, child development, and school readiness in alignment with Early Head Start standards.
Highlighted Responsibilities
Family Engagement & Home Visiting
  • Provide weekly 90-minute home visits to assigned families in a home-based setting
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with families using a family-centered approach
  • Support parents in understanding infant and toddler development and strengthening parenting skills
Child Development & Education
  • Promote developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers
  • Support school readiness through individualized, culturally responsive activities
  • Observe, document, and support child development in partnership with families
Collaboration & Communication
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with families and Early Head Start team members
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and program activities
  • Support compliance with Early Head Start performance standards
What you will bring
  • Minimum of a Home-Based CDA or comparable credential required
  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child devel
  • opment, or a related field preferred
  • Training and/or experience in early childhood or related fields
  • Knowledge of infant and toddler development, family-centered service delivery, and developmentally appropriate practice
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bilingual skills preferred
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to maintain visual and auditory supervision of children
  • Ability to assist in emergency evacuations
  • Valid driver’s license without restrictions
  • Reliable transportation required; travel is part of the role (mileage reimbursement provided)
