Job Description

In this role, the Patient Care Technician/Instructor (PCT) will prepare students with the knowledge, technical skills, and work habits required to pursue an entry-level position in various specialized employment areas encompassing the medical field.  


 


 Responsibilities



  • Implement lesson plans from the approved curriculum offering.

  • Prepare and conduct lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus.

  • Develop and prepare students with critical and analytical thinking skills.  

  • Assist and prepare students with effective problem-solving and decision-making tools.

  • Evaluate and communicate with student on course assignments, homework, technical ability in the lab, academics, grades and attendance. Demonstrate ability to teach all courses in the Patient Care Technician program, such as: Health Care Career Clusters, Home Care Systems, Basic Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, Body Systems, Electrocardiography (EKG), and Phlebotomy.

 




  • Education Requirements



    • Bachelor’s degree (BSN or BS) from a four-year college, university, or an accredited school of nursing.


     


    SECTION 4   Experience required



    • Experience working in an urban community, preferred.

    • One (1) year experience working in the teaching field, minimum.

    • Three to five years of working in the nursing field.
