Position Summary



The Sanitation- Production Supervisor is responsible for ensuring food manufacturing companies adhere to state sanitation protocols, implement company cleaning policies, perform daily sanitation inspections, and oversee the duties of cleaning personnel.



In addition, he/she will ensure that manufacturing remains a smooth, efficient process by monitoring employees and organizing workflows. In a fast-paced production environment, the supervisor is an integral part of the manufacturing process. They must be competent and comprehend complex operations. You should also be able to optimize day-to-day activities while minimizing the costs. The goal is to ensure that production processes deliver products of maximum quality in a profitable manner and free of any safety risk.

General Duties:





  • Establish priorities in accordance with the given guidance and direction in areas requiring attention.




  • Establish and maintain acceptable work practices among employees.




  • Ensures the execution of maximum practices set forth by the Area-Production Manager or Production Manager to ensure the maximum efficiency, timely production, and quality of goods produced.




  • Works closely with employees in the assigned department to improve productivity.




  • Provide suggestions on staffing, equipment, and materials required to meet production demand and sanitation goals.




  • Participate in the Fiscal Year End Inventory count.





 



Sanitation Responsibilities:





  • Develops a partnership with quality, operations, and maintenance to meet the company’s objectives.




  • Understands chemical specifications and their effectiveness/proper application for different processing and packaging equipment, SSOP’s, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure.




  • Coordinate, assign, and schedule the activities of the employees engaged in the sanitation of food processing equipment, processing areas, and general housekeeping of the premises.




  • Update, implement, and enforce the Master Sanitation/Cleaning Schedule to ensure compliance with regulatory and the company’s standards.




  • Develop and update the SSOP that addresses food safety practices and streamlines general sanitation practices.




  • Responsible for verification and recordkeeping, and update of all sanitation documentations, including Sanitation Signoff Logs, Work Order assignments, MSDS, and Training Records.




  • Provide cleaning crew with work assignments, schedules, training, feedback, coaching, support and development opportunities.




  • Maintain the cleaning storage room, including chemicals, cleaning tools, and be organized and clean.




  • Add specified amounts of chemicals to the equipment at required times to maintain solution levels and concentrations.





 



Supervisory Responsibilities:




  • Assure employees are always treated in a professional and respectful manner.


  • Meet with department personnel on areas needing enhancement or modification.




  • Provide daily feedback to employees on their performance, and formally assess it through written performance evaluations. Be involved regarding disciplining employees.




  • Establish and maintain acceptable work practices among employees.




  • Ensure employees follow all company policies and procedures.




  • Communicates departmental goals and objectives on a daily/weekly/monthly basis to assigned department employees.  These goals will include production-related goals such as output, safety, etc.




  • Covers/back up of the Senior Supervisor when needed.




  • Participates in the recruitment, orientation, training, and coaching of employees.




  • Be readily available to workers to answer/address questions/concerns respectively.




  • Demonstrate excellent quality service for internal customers, which should be proactive, personalized, convenient and competent.
