Job Description

The Packing Manager oversees and directs all logistics operations at the Carthage, TN facility. This position is tasked with ensuring the efficient and cost-effective loading, transport, and delivery of goods. Key responsibilities include formulating and executing logistics strategies, supervising logistics personnel, and optimizing the end-to-end supply chain to achieve the company's operational objectives and satisfy customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Strategy and Management: Develop and implement logistics strategies to achieve business goals and enhance operational efficiency.  Oversee logistics operations to ensure the timely and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods.
  • Distribution and Delivery: Ensure efficient and timely distribution of products to customers.  Develop and implement strategies to improve delivery performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement and Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance logistics efficiency.  Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, improve service levels, and increase productivity.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor the logistics team fostering a culture of high performance and professional development. Ensure the logistics team has the skills and resources necessary to support the company's objectives.
  • Transportation Vendor Management: Manage relationships with 3rd party carriers, and truckload logistics providers, including reviewing contracted rates and fees, disputing invoices and tracking repair viability. 
  • Cross-Functional Support: Work with Customer Experience, Operations, Logistics, and Procurement to optimize 3rd party shipments.

  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Deep understanding of logistics principles, processes, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and distribution management.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing logistics team.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with other senior executives.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present logistics information to various stakeholders including senior managers, employees, and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing logistics needs and schedules.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred; may accept an associate degree or relevant extensive experience 
  • Requires 3–8 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management
  • Certifications in the following are a plus: Certified Transportation Professional (CTP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Certified in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) licenses
