Position Summary
The Director of OEM Sales is responsible for leading the strategy, growth, and execution of Tarter Industries’ OEM sales segment. This role drives enterprise-level revenue growth by developing high-impact customer partnerships, expanding market share, and aligning cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, profitable solutions.
This leader will build and execute a forward-looking OEM strategy, oversee key national and regional accounts, and develop a high-performing sales approach that positions Tarter Industries as a preferred manufacturing partner. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in OEM or contract manufacturing sales, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to influence both internally and externally at senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a multi-year OEM sales strategy aligned with Tarter Industries’ growth objectives
- Identify target markets, industries, and customers that align with manufacturing capabilities and capacity
- Establish pricing, margin, and contract strategies that drive profitable growth
- Partner with executive leadership to define revenue targets and long-term business planning
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Lead new OEM business development efforts, including pursuit of large, strategic accounts
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key OEM customers
- Expand existing accounts through cross-selling, upselling, and long-term agreements
- Own and deliver on revenue, margin, and growth targets for the OEM segment
Team & Process Leadership
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing OEM sales team (as applicable)
- Establish disciplined sales processes, pipeline management, and forecasting practices
- Drive accountability through clear performance metrics and regular reviews
- Collaborate with marketing on positioning, messaging, and lead generation strategies
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and finance to ensure alignment on customer solutions
- Translate customer requirements into actionable manufacturing and operational plans
- Support new product development and innovation initiatives driven by OEM customer needs
Customer Experience & Market Insight
- Serve as the executive sponsor for key OEM accounts, ensuring strong customer satisfaction and retention
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer demands to inform strategy
- Represent Tarter Industries at industry events, trade shows, and customer engagements
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8–12+ years of progressive sales experience in OEM, manufacturing, or industrial markets
- 3–5+ years of leadership experience managing sales teams or major accounts
- Demonstrated success in scaling revenue and securing large, complex deals
Skills & Competencies
- Strong strategic thinking and business acumen (pricing, margins, cost structures)
- Executive presence with the ability to influence C-level stakeholders
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and OEM customer expectations
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Data-driven decision-making with experience using CRM and forecasting tools
