Job Description

Little Flower School in Bethesda Maryland is hiring an Administrative Assistant for the 2026-27 school year.
This is a full time role and will report to the Principal.
The pay rate for this position is $27.00 to $33.00 per hour

                                                Duties & Responsibilities

  • Answering telephone calls and welcoming guests to the office.
  • Typing, handling correspondence and document preparation.
  • Scheduling School meetings and events, including occasionally working with food vendors
  • Managing supply vendors and ordering supplies
  • Maintaining on-line calendars and schedules, including managing the Principal’s calendar and schedule
  • Administration of on-line calendar and e-mail system
  • Liaison to Child Protection and Safe Environment Coordinator
  • Back-up person to accountant for running bi-weekly payroll
  • Act as a point of contact for Archdiocese of Washington needs or requests
  • Assist with some minor financial processes
  • Assist with human resources and employee onboarding requirements
  • Assist occasionally with projects working with school leadership and staff
  • Assist with coordination of volunteers
  • Other office duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities 

  • Must fully support the teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective communicator
  • Knowledge of FACTS, Final Site, Cognia, and Google Suite for Education
  • Outstanding organizational and people skills
  • Ability to focus, multitask, and work well under pressure; manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and work independently.
  • Must be able to think ahead, anticipate needs, initiate next steps, and maintain discretion in confidential matters.
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability.
  • Must be able to work as a team member and be collaborative. 

 

Education and Experience

 

  • High school graduate, some college a plus
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office (word, excel, access and power point)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 

 

 

Work environment

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
