Job Description

Beloit Health System is adding to our team in our Surgical Services Department with an immediate opening for a CVOR Registered Nurse at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

  • Sign-On Bonus: Yes
  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: 7a-5:30p
  • Hours per week: 40 hours per week & on-call rotation

The CVOR Registered Nurse will care for, plan, coordinate, supervise and provide for clients throughout their life span. Under general supervision, they deliver care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. The CVOR Registered Nurse will ensure proper preparation of patients for surgical procedures in collaboration with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. The CVOR Registered Nurse will:

  • Appropriately assess basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
  • Effectively plan patient care and consistently implement the patient's plan of care.
  • Accurately evaluate patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
  • Provide patient/family education appropriately.
  • Strictly adhere to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
  • Actively participate in Quality Improvement program.
  • Perform unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
  • Complete documentation according to policy.
  • Effectively set goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
  • Ensure patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software applications appropriate to position.
  • Other duties as assigned including floating among various clinical services, as directed/needed

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • ADN, Diploma, BSN, or MSN degree acceptable.
  • State of Wisconsin nursing licensure, compact license or temporary permit required. (If a compact license, application for a State of Wisconsin nursing license must be initiated in no more than 30 days from start date).
  • Must be CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply proper procedures to Beloit Health System policies.
  • Employee possesses the training, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform the following activities (evaluation, treatment, and patient care) for patients in one or more of the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
  • Successful completion of pre-placement physical examination.
  • Involves physical effort that includes full range of body motion which includes standing, walking for extensive periods of time. Also assists with lifting patients up to 25 pounds weight, pushing transport carts ranging in weight of 50-200 pounds.
  • Required to have manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires to see and hear at a level sufficient to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Requires working in sometimes stressful conditions or irregular hours.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
