Job Description

 The City of Sterling Heights is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager who is hard-working, organized, and collaborative!

  • Salary range: $125,000 - $151,000 annually

Position Summary

Under the direction of the City Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Manager manages routine and emergency maintenances, building improvements, and complex projects of City-wide facilities and property. The Facilities Maintenance Manager takes an active role in elevating the overall organizational performance related to addressing opportunities for improvement in the areas of facility maintenance and ground maintenance. Due to the nature of the work, this position requires being on call to support emergency situations, the ability to effectively supervise employees, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

 

 Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience in facilities management planning and operation, preferably in a municipal setting.
  • Must be available to respond to emergency calls outside of normal working hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted Michigan Driver’s License.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Facility Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), or similar professional certification is preferred.
