    TITLE: Human Resources Technician

    CLASSIFICATION: Classified Hourly Salary Schedule

    REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Human Resources

    SUMMARY: The Human Resources Technician provides technical and administrative support for district human resources operations. This position is responsible for processing and maintaining confidential employment records, supporting recruitment and hiring processes. The HR Technician works collaboratively with HR staff to support employment programs and ensure accurate, timely personnel processing.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Provide technical and clerical support for HR operations including data entry, document processing, record verification, and report preparation. 
    2. Maintain and update vacancy postings for internal and external applicants on district websites and recruitment platforms. 
    3. Conduct initial application reviews to ensure required documentation is complete and meets minimum requirements. 
    4. Forward qualified and complete applications to hiring administrators and teams for further review. 
    5. Coordinate with hiring teams to support interview logistics. 
    6. Assemble, distribute, and collect interview materials for departments and school sites. 
    7. Utilize applicant tracking systems to communicate hiring outcomes, including acceptance and non-selection notifications. 
    8. Establish and maintain confidential personnel files, including collecting, processing, filing, and securing employment documentation in compliance with district procedures. 
    9. Maintain applicant and employee data within HR information systems and databases. 
    10.Provide support for recruitment activities, job fairs, and special hiring initiatives in collaboration with HR Administrators. 
    11.Process background checks and assist candidates with fingerprinting requirements in accordance with district and state regulations. 
    12.Prepare and issue employee identification badges. 
    13.Respond to inquiries from applicants, employees, administrators, and the public regarding HR procedures and employment processes. 
    14.Assist with special HR programs and projects as assigned. 
    15.Attend training and professional development to remain current on HR systems, employment regulations, and district procedures. 
    16.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION: 
    High school diploma or equivalency required.

    EXPERIENCE: 
    Three-years related office or human resources support experience, preferably in an educational or public sector setting, with demonstrated knowledge of office procedures and personnel processes.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HR information systems such as iVisions and Applitrack. 
    Strong data entry and records management skills with a high level of accuracy. 
    Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
    Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with administrators, teachers, support staff, and applicants. 
    Knowledge of human resources practices, procedures, and confidentiality requirements. 
    Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently. 
    Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information. 
    Bilingual English/Spanish skills helpful but not required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: 
    The working environment is the normal office setting.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 
    Twelve-month year, Classified Hourly, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
