Respiratory Therapist – Vent Unit in Skilled Nursing Facility


We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing facility’s Ventilation Unit. This vital role offers an opportunity to provide specialized respiratory care to residents with complex needs, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Key Responsibilities:

- Assess, monitor, and manage residents requiring ventilator support and other respiratory therapies

- Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and interventions as prescribed by physicians

- Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and other respiratory equipment to ensure optimal functioning

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans

- Educate residents and their families about respiratory conditions and care procedures

- Document all assessments, treatments, and interventions accurately in residents’ medical records

- Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and provide critical care as needed

- Maintain compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards


Skills and Qualifications:

- Valid state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist

- Proven experience working with ventilated patients, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting

- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques, ventilator management, and emergency procedures

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care

- Ability to adapt to changing clinical situations and prioritize tasks efficiently
