Job Description

Job Summary:

Rausch Sturm LLP is looking for an experienced Litigation Specialist to review, analyze, and resolve civil process service-related tasks. The Litigation Specialist I will play an integral role in managing internal exception reports, recognize potential issues, and propose solutions. Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to court follow-up, document production, and any other Legal Operations processes or procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Responsible for entry of good service and non-service into the system of record.
  • Enter costs of billing for process service, motions, renewals, and garnishment service.
  • Effectively communicate statuses of suits for service with respective process service companies or sheriffs.
  • Determine likely addresses for service attempts. 
  • Generate motions and renewals for second summons and/or alternative service using Word Perfect.
  • Route suits to judgment, dismissal, or skip tracing.
  • Determine potential roadblocks regarding service, and propose potential solutions.
  • Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to court follow-up, document production, and any other Legal Operations processes or procedures.

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High accuracy in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across departments, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to resolve issues quickly and adapt to new technologies or workflows.

Education and Experience:

  • Highschool diploma, or equivalent, required.
  • Experience in legal operations preferred.
  • Experience in legal documentation processes preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.


Work Environment:

The position is an office-based position.
