Position Summary
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for pre-loading, loading, unloading, and organizing long-length materials while operating forklifts safely and efficiently. This role supports shipping, receiving, and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely material handling.
Essential Job Duties
- Pre-load trucks by pulling all material listed on printed orders and staging appropriately.
- Load and unload trailers using a forklift.
- Safely operate a forklift to move long-length materials (20ft, 24ft, and longer).
- Maintain organized, tidy material storage on correct racks and designated locators.
- Load curtain-side, Conestoga-style, and hard-side trailers using proper straps, standards, and securement methods to prevent material damage.
- Receive and follow verbal instructions regarding material needs for various departments.
- Perform general material handling duties within the assigned work area and assist teammates as needed.
- Assist with cycle counting and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and dock areas.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to spot trailers at the dock for loading and unloading.
- Basic computer skills.
- Forklift certification required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Experience operating forklifts to handle large and long materials.
- Strong attention to safety and proper load securement.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills to follow verbal instructions.
