Job Description

Quality Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a highly capable Quality Control Engineer to join our Quality team at Techtronic Industries Australia. Reporting to the IQC Manager, this role is responsible for owning incoming quality engineering outcomes, including root cause analysis, corrective action effectiveness, and reducing systemic quality risk across products and suppliers.

This is a hands‑on engineering role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex quality problems, applying technical judgement, and influencing stakeholders to deliver sustainable quality improvements — not just short‑term containment.

Key responsibilities

  • Own root cause analysis for incoming quality issues, including investigation direction, methodology selection, and technical conclusions
  • Define, review, and validate corrective and preventative actions to ensure prevention of recurrence
  • Act as the technical authority for incoming quality risks, decisions, and shipment disposition
  • Provide independent technical judgement and challenge supplier or engineering proposals where quality risk remains
  • Escalate unresolved or systemic quality risks with data‑driven recommendations
  • Prepare and contribute to quality performance reporting and cross‑functional quality forums
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers, and global quality stakeholders

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar)
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in quality engineering or engineering‑based quality roles
  • Demonstrated experience owning root cause analysis and corrective action effectiveness
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical decision‑making capability
  • Experience using data to prioritise issues, assess risk, and justify actions
  • Ability to influence and engage cross‑functional stakeholders, including suppliers

Desirable experience:

  • Experience in power tools, consumer electronics, or manufacturing‑based products
  • Familiarity with supplier quality or incoming quality control environments
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
  • Experience applying structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g. 5 Why, Fishbone, Fault Tree)
  • Technical understanding of power tools or electromechanical products

Why join TTI?

  • Be part of a globally recognised, values‑driven organisation
  • Take real ownership of quality engineering decisions and outcomes
  • Work in a technically challenging role with exposure to global supply chains
  • Collaborative environment focused on performance, accountability, and improvement
  • Opportunity to make a tangible impact on product quality and customer experience

How to apply

If you’re a quality‑focused engineer who enjoys problem‑solving, technical leadership, and driving systemic improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
