Aviation and Missile Solutions, LLC. (AMS) is currently seeking a Linux Administrator to join our Huntsville, AL. team.

This is a system administrator position which supports the AMS corporate office, with focus on a dedicated lab environment. This Linux administrator position will be responsible for the development, maintenance and documentation associated with this dedicated lab environment. Tasks will include installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux clusters. The Linux administrator must be highly organized with a strong technical background in Linux.

The candidate in this role will function within the AMS corporate IT department and will work closely with the AMS FSO and ISSM. The candidate must be a self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced working environment and be willing to engage various levels of stakeholders to ensure that the AMS corporate lab remains online.

Basic Qualifications:

The candidate must be a US Citizen and a resident of the Huntsville, AL area or be willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area. A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field is preferred but not required. Candidate should have 5 or more years of Linux Administrator experience. Candidate needs to have a record of taking initiative and being a team player in a small team environment.

Other Qualifications:

Experience with Microsoft Windows environments is preferred but not required.

Security Requirements:

Candidate must be able to acquire or possess (as well as maintain) a DoD Secret security clearance.
