Job Description

WAGE DOE

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of this position is to support company operations by ensuring excellent oversight, customer service, and maximum productivity in the areas of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Store Accounting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure excellent customer service for general Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable
  • Make certain all store Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable reporting deadlines are met
  • Ensure accurate and timely quarterly and year end close processes for store Accounting, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable
  • Ensure accounting processes and procedures are followed consistently and accurately
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in areas of responsibility
  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Communicate openly, effectively, and frequently with the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and store Accounting teams creating a positive team environment as a supervisor
  • Perform backup duties for Property Management, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and store Accounting
  • Assist as needed to ensure the success of the company as a whole

MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS:

  • Consistent and daily interaction with Support Office and store associates
  • Consistent and daily interaction with customers and vendors

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1–3 years of experience in team management or administrative supervision required. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent accounting experience preferred.  2+ years of Oracle and QuickBooks experience preferred. 1-3 years of accounting experience is preferred. Knowledge of accounting procedures, knowledge of administration skills, experience with accounts payable functions, and the month-end/year-end close process preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Proficient organization, communication, and planning skills
  • Ability to supervise a team of associates
  • Must be detail orientated
  • Must be proficient with typing and 10-key
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task, balance friendliness with efficiency and maintain focus
  • Ability to represent Harmons in a professional manner
  • A good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening skills in order to effectively and efficiently communicate with diverse groups of people
  • Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Capacity to problem solve and use good judgment
  • Ability to utilize computer systems and standard office equipment

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination.  Also requires walking, bending, and sitting for long periods of time. This position may require occasionally moving objects weighing up to 30 pounds from location to location.
