Job Description

The Contracts and Finance Section of the Right of Way Division is seeking a graduate‑level Business Analyst Intern to support efforts to improve and modernize contract‑related business processes. The intern will assist with workflow analysis, data analysis, and research related to procurement, contracts, payments, and reporting, gaining hands‑on experience contributing to process improvement initiatives and operational decision‑making.

Performs routine analysis in support of contract‑related business processes within the Contracts and Finance Section of the Right of Way Division. Work involves assisting with workflow and data analysis, documentation, research, and general office and administrative support activities related to procurement, contracts, payments, and reporting. Assignments are completed following established procedures and specific instructions and are subject to frequent review by the immediate supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  • Analyzes data and applies statistical techniques.
  • Assists in developing and maintaining databases
  • Assists with special projects. 
  • Supports analysis of proposed business changes and makes priority recommendations to the Administration. 
  • Assists in testing, validating, updating and enhancing applications. 
  • Captures, documents and/or implements functional business requirements
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in a discipline related to area of assignment

Experience: No work experience required 

Other Conditions:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age, and currently enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited college/university.
  • Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of project management principles
  • Basic knowledge of change management strategies
  • Interest in AI and emerging technology solutions

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office with prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer may be required.
  • Occasional attendance at meetings, trainings, classes, or workshops in various office locations at Stassney.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and review documents, data, and digital materials.
