Job Description

Job Summary:

The AI Transformation Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating the Edge business transition toward AI-enabled ways of working across development, operations, and broader business functions. Reporting to the GM and working alongside the management team, this role will drive practical AI adoption across the organisation to improve capability, operational effectiveness, and ways of working. The role is heavily focused on people, education, and change management, supporting teams and leaders to build confidence and practical capability in AI tools, workflows, and AI-enabled practices.

The successful candidate will help identify opportunities for improvement, support the introduction of new tools and processes, and assist teams in embedding AI into day-to-day operations in a safe, practical, and sustainable way.

Job Description:

Key responsibilities:
This is a fixed-term contract position for a period of 12 months. The role is intended to establish and embed AI-first practices across the Edge business within this timeframe, with a clear focus on leaving a sustainable capability uplift and documented frameworks that endure beyond the contract period.

AI Transformation & Capability Leadership

  • Lead the execution and coordination of the organisation’s AI Transformation Plan across the business.
  • Ensure transformation activities remain aligned with agreed maturity assessments, portfolio objectives, and business priorities.
  • Coordinate AI transformation activities across departments to identify practical opportunities for AI-enabled improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain tracking and reporting of AI initiatives, including delivery momentum, risks, dependencies, and blockers, escalating issues where required.
  • Engage with and support portfolio-level AI transformation activities, including AI assessments, reporting, progress reviews, forums, peer groups, and related transformation initiatives as required.
     

AI Enablement & Change Leadership

  • Support staff and leaders through the transition to AI-enabled ways of working by providing practical education, training, guidance, and hands-on support.
  • Work with teams across R&D, product, sales and marketing, customer care, and operations to identify, trial, adopt, and embed practical AI tools and workflows that improve efficiency, quality, delivery, and operational effectiveness.
     

Governance & Accountability

  • Establish practical AI working standards, governance expectations, and usage guidance to support safe, consistent, and effective adoption across the business.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, controls, reporting, and oversight are maintained for AI-related initiatives and activities.
  • Reinforce responsible AI usage and ensure AI practices remain aligned with organisational security, compliance, risk management, and ethical expectations.

Your experience and attributes:

Success in this role requires strong judgement, credibility, influence, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguity while maintaining delivery momentum. Deep technical expertise is not mandatory; however, strong AI literacy, change leadership capability, and cross‑functional understanding are essential.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • High level of AI literacy, including practical exposure to AI-enabled tools, copilots, automation platforms, agentic AI workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating business transformation initiatives involving technology, operational change, process improvement, or new ways of working. 
  • Proven ability to translate strategic direction into executable plans, with clear prioritisation, delivery coordination, progress tracking, and stakeholder reporting. 
  • Experience working across multiple business functions and influencing outcomes without direct authority, including building alignment with senior leaders, operational teams, and technical stakeholders. 
  • Strong understanding of change management principles, with the ability to build confidence, reduce resistance, and support teams through evolving ways of working. 
  • Ability to think systemically across people, process, technology, governance, and operational impact when designing and implementing change initiatives. 
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience operating in environments with ambiguity, evolving priorities, and emerging technologies while maintaining delivery momentum and organisational alignment.
  • Understanding of governance, risk, security, compliance, and responsible technology practices, specifically in relation to AI adoption.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working within a software or SaaS business environment. 
  • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices and modern product delivery environments. 
  • Exposure to AI-assisted software development tools and engineering workflows.
