Spectrum Business seeks a Manager of Sales Engineering – Vertical to guide regional Sales Engineering teams, collaborating with Sales Managers and Account Executives. You will oversee pre-sale technical activities, talent development and cross-department coordination to ensure Spectrum Business’s solutions support sales objectives, making a measurable impact on our clients and business.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and develop Sales Engineers supporting pre- and post-sales consulting for Fiber Internet Access, Private Networking and Voice solutions
- Direct daily team operations, including hiring, training and evaluating Sales Engineers to build skills and certification
- Manage assignments and workflows to support local and regional sales opportunities
- Ensure process integrity across sales, operations and engineering while serving as liaison and escalation contact with internal teams
- Conduct weekly meetings to review performance and support defined goals
- Perform Sales Engineer functions as needed and participate in sales meetings and training sessions

Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science or related field
Experience
- 2-5+ years of sales engineering management experience, preferably managing teams selling data, voice or video solutions in commercial telecommunications
- 5+ years combined experience in technology management, network design, engineering, project management or sales engineering management
Skills
- Proficiency in English communication
- Knowledge of competing technologies and service providers in sales cycles
- Ability to motivate teams and achieve goals
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Presentation and proposal design skills
- Extensive networking knowledge (TCP/IP, IP VPN, MPLS, VPLS, Ethernet, VoIP, SONET, DWDM)
- Familiarity with routers, switches, LAN, MAN, WAN, DS3, OC-x, CSU/DSU, CPE
- Consultative approach to customer solutions and design
- Voice networking experience with VoIP, signaling protocols and PBX
- Experience with routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, RIP) and emerging technologies
- Proficiency in MS Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
- Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and auto insurance required
Preferred Qualifications
Education
- Industry network certifications (MEF, CCNP, CCIP, CCIE preferred)
Experience
- Experience with transport technologies in service provider networks (DWDM, SONET, Ethernet)
