    The Morris County Vocational School District has an opening for a full-time tenure track secondary School Counselor (10-month position).  The position is available for the 2026-2027 school year.

    Job Goal:

    The Morris County Vocational School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered secondary School Counselor to support our diverse population of high-achieving Academy and Share Time students. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative professional who can bridge the gap between traditional academic counseling and specialized career/technical guidance.
     

    Key Responsibilities
     

    • Academic & Career Coaching: Provide comprehensive guidance for students within our specialized CTE academies, including course selection, graduation tracking, and alignment with industry certifications.
    • College & Post-Secondary Planning: Facilitate the college application process, with a focus on articulating credit transfers (including our partnership with CCM) and navigating specialized admissions for technical programs.
    • Social-Emotional Support: Deliver individual and group counseling to support student wellness, resiliency, and academic success.
    • IEP/504 Collaboration: Work closely with the Office of Student Services to ensure that accommodations are implemented effectively within the vocational shop and academic settings.
    • Master Schedule Support: Assist in the development and maintenance of student schedules to ensure all state graduation and CTE sequence requirements are met.
    • Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact between the district, sending school districts, and parents to support student transitions.
       

    Perform such other duties which may be within the scope of employment and certification or as may be assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications:
     

    1. New Jersey School Counselor Certification
    2. A strong understanding of college and high school academic systems, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to supporting student success in a dual enrollment environment.
       

    Compensation:
     

    In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $65,455 to $109,685.  This position is also eligible for a retirement plan, sick, personal, bereavement, and family illness days.
